La ministre de la Jeunesse, des Sports, Djirèye Clotilde Coly, a procédé, ce matin, à la remise officielle du drapeau national à la délégation de Special Olympics Sénégal, appelée à représenter le pays à la Coupe du monde de Football Unifié Special Olympics, prévue du 5 au 11 juillet 2026 à Paris.
La cérémonie, organisée dans la salle d’honneur du Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor, s’est tenue au nom du Président de la République, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Elle marque une étape importante pour le mouvement sportif inclusif sénégalais, qui participe pour la première fois à cette compétition mondiale.
Dans son allocution, la ministre a salué cet événement historique et adressé ses encouragements aux athlètes appelés à défendre les couleurs nationales sur la scène internationale.
« Le sport est un puissant levier d’inclusion, d’éducation et de cohésion sociale, au cœur de l’Agenda national de transformation Vision Sénégal 2050. L’État sera à vos côtés, sans relâche, pour vous offrir les meilleures conditions », a déclaré Djirèye Clotilde Coly.
Elle a également invité les membres de la délégation à porter haut les couleurs du Sénégal avec honneur, détermination et fierté.
La participation de Special Olympics Sénégal à cette Coupe du monde de Football Unifié constitue une avancée majeure pour la promotion du sport inclusif au Sénégal et illustre l’engagement des autorités en faveur de l’inclusion des personnes vivant avec une déficience intellectuelle à travers le sport.
